Mingyang Lyu is a Senior Principal Analyst at Omdia, specializing in optical components for telecom and datacom markets. He empowers clients with expert insights into silicon photonics, transmission systems, and hyperscaler strategies, enabling them to navigate evolving optical technology roadmaps and complex investment trends.

Mingyang brings extensive experience to Omdia, having previously served as optics chief technical specialist at Nokia Shanghai Bell. He also held a role at SiFotonics, where he gained end-to-end expertise in optical modules and developed strong connections within the Chinese supply chain. Mingyang earned his PhD in electrical and electronics engineering from Université Laval in Quebec, Canada. He has presented at key optical industry events, including ECOC, showcasing his deep knowledge and research in optical technologies.
